The Blog Parties: PRETTY & NICE
The Blog Parties is a monthly showcase that brings the sound of musicblogs. Every first thursday of the month an upcoming live act, accompanied by host DJs Dans Le Rock and a guest DJ. On this edition we will feature a promising band from Boston (Massachusettes, US). Pretty & Nice released their debut album Get Young in 2008 and are coming to Europe after a US tour in the beginning of 2009. Their sound is influenced by a range of old and contemporary acts such as Devo, Talking Heads and Q and not U. This amounts to sounding both typically indie-English as well as indie-American. Pretty & Nice already played at SXSW last year and were also reviewed on Pitchfork (here!), so they are heading straight to indiemusic popularity. Don’t miss them before they grow big! Besides Pretty & Nice, DJ duo Dans Le Rock will host the night with some blog favorites and indielectro tunes. Ending the nights in both Utrecht and Amsterdam is guest DJ ‘To be announced’
